Description

Danish: Den store Paddejagt 2007 Occurrence dataset created by a citizen science project, conducted from April 1 to May 31, 2007, in Denmark. The survey was organized by OBSnatur (Friluftsrådet (The Outdoor Council) and ConDidact (Danish private company with several websites used for teaching pupils about e.g. Danish animals, www.danske-dyr.dk)) in collaboration with Nordisk Herpetologisk Forening (Nordic Herpetological Society) and Biologiforbundet (Biology confederation). The participants searched for 14 species of amphibians: • Ichthyosaura alpestris (Alpine Newt, Danish: Bjergsalamander) • Rana temporaria (Common Frog, European Frog, Danish: Butsnudet frø) • Bufotes variabilis (European Green Toad, Danish: Grønbroget tudse) • Pelophylax esculentus (Edible Frog, Danish: Grøn frø) • Bombina bombina (Fire-bellied Toad, Danish: Klokkefrø) • Pelophylax ridibundus (Marsh Frog, Danish: Latterfrø) • Lissotriton vulgaris (Smooth Newt, Danish: Lille vandsalamander) • Pelobates fuscus (Common Spadefoot Toad, Danish: Løgfrø) • Hyla arborea (Common Tree Frog, European Treefrog, Danish: Løvfrø) • Bufo bufo (European Toad, Common Toad, Danish: Skrubtudse) • Rana arvalis (Moor Frog, Danish: Spidssnudet frø) • Rana dalmatina (Agile Frog, Danish: Springfrø) • Triturus cristatus (Crested Newt, Great Crested Newt, Danish: Stor vandsalamander) • Epidalea calamita (Natterjack Toad, Danish: Strandtudse) The project invited the public to search for specific species in their local area. Species descriptions, instructions etc. were made available on a project website (http://danske-dyr.dk/Sv%C3%A6r/naturjagter/Den%20store%20Paddejagt%202007/). Observations of species could be submitted through an online form. The species observations were documented by digital photos, and later were validated by scientific experts.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,286 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
